What a year this has been! Unemployment, recession, "bailouts", oh my...

While this has been a difficult year financially for many of the ferret shelters across the country, MaFF has been blessed with generous benefactor's, who have continued to support our shelter through gifts, donated time and adoptions. I would also like to acknowledge PETCO as one of our most generous benefactors, donating close to $2,500 to MaFF this year.

Yes, we have much to be thankful for—hundreds of shelter ferrets now enjoying a forever home, shelter ferrets receiving much needed medical attention, and, most important, our personal ferrets basking in the love of their humans.

This being said, I would like to remind everyone of the Ferret Giving Tree Party to be held on November 30th, where we come together as a group to give back to others less fortunate. The event was originated by Diane Wall (South Shore Ferret Care) in 2004 and has become an annual event for MaFF. I would ask that you take a few minutes to visit this year's Ferret Giving Tree to read the "Wish List" from shelters across the country. If you are planning to attend our Ferret Giving Tree Party, you can gather information from the Giving Tree for donation ideas. Bring these with you so we can pack them up and ship them to the shelter. If you can not attend the Ferret Giving Tree Party, please consider picking a special ferret from the Giving Tree and sending a Secret Santa gift.
